A practical tip? Talk to yourself. It may seem silly, but speaking out loud, writing in a journal, or even recording audios of yourself venting can help you organize your thoughts. Listen to yourself without judgment.
Find Friends Who Have Been Through This
Another important thing: look for stories from other people who have been through this. There are many videos, podcasts and books with real stories that can inspire you. When we see that we are not alone, the weight lifts a little, you know?
When you feel ready to tell someone, choose safe people. Friends who have already shown support for the LGBTQIA+ community, more open-minded family members, or even online groups. You don’t have to start with the most difficult ones.
You Have Your Own Time
And remember: the time is yours. No one has the right to rush your process. And if someone tries, you can respectfully say: “I’m still figuring this out for myself, and I prefer to go at my own pace.”
